Vanley Courier is a locally owned courier in Kitchener, Ontario. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website and when we deliver for you, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Quote requests. When you use the quote form or email us, we receive what you send: your name, business name, phone number or email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, timing and any details you add.
- Deliveries. When we deliver for you, we record pickup and drop-off times, the name of the person who signed for the item and, where you have agreed to a drop, a photo of the drop-off spot. We do not photograph contents.
- Calls and texts. If you call or text us, we have your phone number and any messages you send.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to your request, prepare a quote, carry out and confirm deliveries, and keep ordinary business records. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or add you to a mailing list.
Who else handles it
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Delivery confirmations go to the customer who booked the delivery, or to whoever they have asked us to notify.
- Form and email delivery. The quote form reaches our inbox either through a form-delivery service (Formspree) or through your own email app, and then through our email provider.
- Website hosting. This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Coverage map. The map is provided by Mapbox and loads only when you scroll to it. Mapbox then receives your IP address and basic browser information, and may store a small anonymous identifier in your browser.
Some of these providers process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies of its own and has no analytics or advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests for as long as we need them to reply and follow up. If you become a customer, we keep delivery and billing records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet our legal and tax obligations, then delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@vanley.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
